The 2007 Honda Fit Base is the less gilded package for the "bite sized" subcompact that took over for Honda's Civic hatchback. Though the 2007 Fit is not hugely different from successive model years, a few changes do apply.

The 2007 Honda Fit is powered by a 16 valve SOHC 109 horsepower engine, with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission standard. On the base model, the 2007 Fit gets an EPA estimated 33/38 miles per gallon (cty/hwy) with a manual transmission and 31/38 with an automatic. (It's important to note that MPG for the 2008 and successive model years is substantially less than this figure).

As with later model years, Honda Fit buyers can find air conditioning, power locks and windows, and Honda's MagicSeat storage system. For audio, there's a 160-Watt AM/FM/CD Audio System (with 4 speakers on the base model and 6 in the Fit Sport). Though in the Fit's Base model, MP3 capability is not available, Speed Sensitive Volume Control is standard.

The first-year 2007 Fit base also has the safety fatures that Honda puts into every Fit, including Anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags and more. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that is included in the 2008 is one of the main differences for the 2007 line-up; the 2007 Fit is missing this feature.

The 2007 Fit base rolls on 14" wheels with full covers. A range of exterior features provide style for this car. Ask about the Honda Fit at your local dealership if you are looking for value in this model year.
