SR-22 Forms
An SR-22 form, though typically associated with high-risk insurance, is not a type of insurance, but rather proof of financial responsibility for people convicted of specific traffic violations or as ordered by the court. These forms vary from state-to-state and are filled out by your insurance company and submitted to the state DMV. If you are required to have an SR-22 form, expect to have one for at least three years.
Not all states require SR-22 forms. Delaware, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania do not require them.
