There are several different problems that a car radiator may have that will require radiator repair. The radiator is the most important part of your car?s cooling system and is also the part of the cooling system most likely to have problems. Most common radiator problems will cause your car to overheat and may cause the vehicle to stop running completely until the radiator is repaired.

Your car's radiator uses a pressurized system of tanks and hoses to provide antifreeze coolant used for cooling your car engine. One of the most common problems with any type of radiator will be leaks in the radiator tank, radiator reserve tank or leaky hoses or seals. Many radiator leaks can be fixed by simply replacing a hose or hose clamps.

Other radiator repairs might involve replacing the radiator or radiator reserve tank due to cracks or other damage that results in leaks in the cooling system. Usually repairing major cracks or leaks in the radiator or radiator reserve tank will require replacing the tank itself. Sometimes they leaky radiator repair may be as simple as replacing the radiator cap or the reserve tank water outlet cap.

Other common problems associated with the radiator are defective radiator fans or radiator water pumps. Both of these electrical components are critical for the correct proper operation of your radiator and may need to be replaced from time to time. It is not uncommon for radiator fans to cease functioning or water pumps to develop faulty bearings or seals which will result in faulty operation or leaks in the cooling system.
