Jaguar S-TYPE Generations
For each major redesign, a vehicle is said to begin a new "generation."
The S-Type comes with three different engines: a 235 hp 3.0-liter V-6, 300 hp 4.2-liter V-8, and a 400 hp supercharged V-8. A six-speed automatic transmission controls all the different engine versions. It comes standard with reverse park control, dual-zone climate control and an electrically adjustable steering column. Safety features on the S-Type include side-impact and side curtain airbags; Adaptive Restraint Technology System; Antilock brakes include emergency brake assist; and Dynamic Stability Control

2003 - 2007 Jaguar S-TYPE
Major changes included: The sole generation of the S-Type was offered in 3.0, 4.2, and R trims. All were offered with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2004 refresh saw an electronically controlled parking brake switch and an appearance touch-up. | |
