Mercury Mountaineer Generations
The Mountaineer is offered in two trim levels, Base and Premier, and is available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Two powertrain combinations are available: a 210-hp 4.0-liter V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission is standard on both trims, while a 292-hp 4.6-liter V8 paired with a six-speed automatic is optional on the Premier. Mountaineer Base trims are well-equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, air conditioning and cruise control; Premier trims add 18-inch chrome-clad wheels, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, satellite radio, SYNC communication system and a third-row seat. Standard safety features include AdvanceTrac electronic stability control with anti-rollover technology, traction control and anti-lock disc brakes, as well as dual front, front side-impact and side-curtain airbags.
