The front-wheel drive John Cooper Works, available as a two-door hatchback or convertible, represents the peak of MINI performance. The turbocharged direct injection 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 208 horsepower and features an overboost function pushes the maximum torque from 192 lbs-ft to 207 lbs-ft. A six-speed manual is the only transmission available. Standard equipment includes exclusive 17-inch cross-spoke wheels with run-flat performance tires, piano black interior trim, Dynamic Stability Control, electronic differential lock control, and the debut of Dynamic Traction Control. Features such as Xenon headlights, sport suspension, aerodynamic body kit, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, navigation system, satellite radio, leather seat trim, parking sensors, rain sensing wipers, and black or white racing stripes are optional.
