Seller CommentsYou are buying an absolutely beautiful 1979 Porsche 911 SC TARGA. It is beautiful in and out as you will see in the pictures. VIN 9119211639 This car was smogged just two months ago and it passed with flying colors. It has a brand new Catalytic converter. It has 167,xxx original miles, although it did have some engine work at about 154,xxx miles. It has been well maintained its whole life. The exterior is in good condition. It has some small paint chips, see pictures. It has been garaged most of its life. You could drive this car anywhere with out any problems. It has been my daily car for the last 3 years. The front seats are showing a tear where the seat belt slides across. The car is equipped with a Kenwood stereo system that has an amp, a 6cd changer and a bass tube with a cross-over. The power windows work well. The motor has 167,xxx miles on it and it fires up right away every time. I am the car’s third owner, having known the previous owner who had it for nearly 15 years. The car shifts smooth and seems to operate fine. This was my first Porsche and I am very happy with it, I’m positive I will own another Porsche, but for now I am moving to a new house and I Unfortunately do not have room or space for this Porsche or a few other cars I will sell. The car is very nice looking; everywhere I go people stop and notice. It does have some issues mostly related to being a near 30 year old car. The heater works but the cables seem to be stuck that open the vents. When they did the engine work, the removed the air conditioner, thus no A/C. It has a new targa top along with the headliner. It seals good. It is missing the light that sits above the tail. The tires are getting older and should be replaced in the next year. The mechanic here that has serviced it the last 3 years since I brought it to the S.F. bay area from the Los Angeles area (where it lived its first 25 years) recommends I change the shocks. He just put in a new key lock cylinder for the ignition and the driver door. So it has new keys that need to be inserted into a bigger key ring/chain thing. Otherwise, I really enjoy the car. It is fast, it drives fun, it is quick and starts every time. The few times I have left it outside of the garage in the below freezing mornings, I let it idle for a few minutes before I run off to work. I have really enjoyed this car and welcome any questions. If you want the car to be inspected, feel free to do so. If you need additional detail photos, I have many more available just send your request. Important information follows: The car has no warranty but you are welcome to inspect it or have it inspected.
